Minor Consent For Treatment

In compliance with state law, a legal guardian must accompany minors to appointments and provide consent before any dental treatment can be performed.

General Rule: Parental Consent Required.

The Parents’ Rights in Medical Decision-Making Act (the “Act”), I.C. § 32-1015, reaffirms that “[p]arents have the fundamental right and duty to make decisions concerning the furnishing of health care services to the minor child.”  The Act states,

In compliance with The Parents’ Rights in Medical Decision-Making Act we request that legal guardians accompany minors for all their appointments and only legal guardians may approve dental treatment.
